Back from Puerto Rico!

I just got in from an amazing trip to Puerto Rico. I went with a photographer friend, so needless to say, we took a lot of great pictures. There is so much culture, the food, the architecture, I could have spent days just wandering around taking it all in. The trip was just too short! Anyone planning a wedding for Puerto Rico, let me know. I would LOVE to go back and spend just a few more days. Okay, I could probably spend a few weeks, but I think Mike and Tiffany would miss me too much!! As for travel, sadly, that's about it for travel for me for a few weeks. Februray is actually the first month in over 6 months that we don't have a destination wedding or any big trips planned. So I have a few weeks to enjoy Florida and look forward to traveling in March (Las Vegas here I come!!!).

Off to a great year!

2008 is going to be a great year for Impressions! We've booked a bunch of really great weddings in the past month and our engagement portrait event looks like it's going to be a hit! Oh, and of course, being named as one of the Knot magazines top picks for wedding photographers doesn't hurt!! I'm loving it! I have the best job ever! I do go on vacation tomorrow, but honestly how great things are going I would almost rather be photographing a wedding.... well, almost, it is vacation! It's a really close second to being at a wedding, but vacation does win out! In 24 hours I'll be in Puerto Rico!! I can't wait! I'll be sure and post pictures. Even on vacation, I'm never far from a camera!

February Special Event

We have a pretty neat event planned for February. Monday, the 18th we're opening up the studio for a special day of engagement portraits. We're doing a fun theme with all black and white backgrounds. I've included a few images that we took of Tiffany and her man, Dane. We had a lot of fun shooting her pictures. As much as I know Dane hates having his picture taken, I think he actually had a good time too! So talk the guys into it. We're doing shorter sittings all day at a reduced sitting fee of $25. Evening times are also available, but sittings are limited, so sign up today!

We're loved!

Tiffany took an exciting call today. A representitive called from The Knot to let us know that we were voted best photographer in our area and will be listed in their 2008 "Best of Weddings" issue coming out in March. We are all so excited. What a great honor!

Another busy week...

We're off to yet another busy week at the studio. As it turned out it was a good thing that me, Tiffany and Mike were all in the studio today. Both lines were ringing on the phone while there was consistently packages coming in and clients coming and going. And January is usually a slow month! Between all of the mayhem I did find a chance to select a few images to print for the studio. I posted a couple that I chose here. Hopefully we’ll have them up on our walls soon! As for the studio, it looks like the rest of the week is going to be just as busy. We have several portrait sittings and wedding consultations scheduled this week. I love staying busy though, and no matter how hectic this week gets… I go on vacation next week! Puerto Rico, here I come!

Gotta love a photo booth!

I couldn't leave out the pictures that Tiffany, Mike and I had taken in a photo booth at the trade show. www.fotocabina.com rents the booth for events. I think we need to get one of these for the studio!

Back to the Studio

We're back from Imaging USA. It was amazing. There was almost 10,000 photographers from around the world there. I could write a book on all of the cool things we saw and learned. We'll be updating our product line this year with some cool albums and some other neat stuff we found. I'll keep you posted! And as always, we had a blast together. I've included some fun shots that we took of each other. We don't go far without our camera's and this trip was no exception. I couldn't stop laughing when I looked at the pictures we took. Only my crew can turn a trade show floor into a photo shoot!

Imaging USA

Every year the the Impressions crew travels to go to one of the biggest photography conventions there is, Imaging USA. Yes, thousands of photo geeks all meet up in one location every year and actually spend days talking photo! Tomorrow we're heading to the annual event. They are expecting over 500 trade show boothes with every fun new product that is available to wedding photographers. From the latest technology to all of the trendy new albums, it's amazing how many things they can try to sell us! We'll also get to sit in on classes taught by world famous wedding photographers. Yes, there are world famous wedding photographers!! And yes, I am pretty excited! Four days of talking f-stops and shutter speeds, I can't wait!!

Maria & Dani's wedding in Naples

I just got a first look at Maria and Dani's final images. Mike and I shot their wedding in Naples just over a month ago. There were so many amazing images, it was hard to pick just a few! I really love it when Mike and I get to shoot together. I know, I say it all of the time, but seeing the same moment captured two completely different ways is pretty cool. Our day with the couple was a photographers dream as well. We took advantage of the unique architecture in downtown Naples, followed by the stunning beach at the Ritz Carlton. It was a great day, beautiful weather, amazing couple, a wedding photographers perfect event.

Welcome 2008!

Today was pretty cool. Mike and I both talked to at least a dozen brides who are planning their upcoming weddings. They say the holidays are a popular time to get engaged, that must make January a popular month to book the photographer! Well, either way it was fun talking to everyone about their plans. I booked Michelle for her September wedding in Pennsylvania and have been talking with two different brides who are planning events in Mexico (my personal favorite place for a destination wedding!!). So it looks like 2008 is going to be a great year! A little travel and a lot of weddings. Exactly how we like it!
