Proud to be Normal

I met with Heather today who is planning her June 1st wedding for South Seas. We've talked on the phone and been emailing, but this was the first we had met in person. She was really sweet and we talked for quite a bit about the big day. As she was leaving the studio she said to me "Thanks for being normal!" It was the funniest compliment I've ever gotten! I guesss she has had some strage experiences while interviewing potential vendors for her wedding. So I think she was relieved to find that I'm not a crazy artist (or at least I hide it well!). There's nothing wrong with being normal, I'll take it. As long as my photography isn't normal, I'm happy!

Bridal Show

I returned from the Bahamas this weekend and got right back into the swing of things. Today was the 2008 winter Bridal Blast at Germain Arena. We met a bunch of couples planning weddings for as far out as 2010 and as soon as next month! It was fun talking to all of the brides and grooms as well as meeting up with a lot of our friends who are also in the industry. I've included some pictures from the event and the fashion show. My favorite bridal boutique, Zola Keller www.zolakeller.com provided all of the gowns for the show. Mason's Bakery was also there. Chris at Mason's provided us with way too many sinful treats! Anyone wondering what happens to all of the left over cake... there is a tray of it sitting to my left right now calling my name! Chris was way too nice and gave it to us to take home. I think I'm going to have to give in and have cake for dinner now!

Did someone say travel?

An opportunity presented itself to me today, a trip to the Bahamas, leaving tomorrow! I'm a pretty easy sell when it comes to travel. So, I packed the essentials (camera, laptop and a swimsuit) and I'm ready to go! I'll be working from Nassau for the next few days. Mike and Tiffany will be running the show back at the studio (thanks guys!). I'll be sure to update the blog with pictures.

Marshmallows and oragami

It was brought to my attention that from the blog, it looks like we never work! I have to admit, we do have a lot of fun together and we really love our job. If it's possible to have too much fun at work, maybe we are guilty, but we definitely put in our fare share of hours. Tonight I'm here at 1am loading images onto my laptop and getting some work done, but that's just no fun to blog about!

Mike, Justin (our assistant) and I were at the Colony photographing a members dinner earlier tonight. So, we were working, but as usual we did have a lot of fun too. I included a few pictures of us working hard!

Hope everyone had a great valentines day!

The stuff that goes on at the studio when I'm not there!

Okay, so I see what happens at the studio when I'm gone! Mike & Tiffany: I'll be in all day tomorrow, are there any marshmallows left?

How to make roasted marshmallows in the safty of your own studio...

Step 1. You need an uncontrolable desire to eat marshmallows.

Step 2. You actually need marshmallows.

Step 3. You need a long utensile to apply marshmallow securelly to.

Step 4. A heating source is required.

Step 5. Pull hair back to avoid accidental combustion.

Step 6. Heat marshmallow till flaiming, then put out promtly to avoid burning.

Step 7. Eat marshmallow while laughing to maximize the funny.

Mexico Wedding

Just found out, Mike and Melinda choose us for their photographers for their May wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A wedding, a fabulous destination and we get to photograph it! You can't beat that!

I included a picture I came across from a trip we took last year for a wedding. It's Mike and I out shooting in the city, freezing our butts off! Don't get me wrong, we'll go anywhere, but our specialty is not cold weather!
